Introduction

Seismic engineering refers to the study of avoiding damage to structures caused by earthquakes as much as possible, and specifically, there are the following studies.

  • How to transmit seismic motion in the ground

  • Behavior of underground and above-ground structures during an earthquake

  • Selection of reinforcement method for existing structures

  • Proposal of new structural materials and structural types that are resistant to earthquakes

Recently, research that is conscious of disaster prevention after an earthquake, fire spread simulation, evacuation simulation, etc. are being conducted, and research such as earthquake resistance diagnosis after an earthquake is also being conducted.

Research Topics

Improvement of bridge response accuracy during earthquakes using the correlation between torsion and bending
Study on type I cross-section pier shear strength experiment
Study on estimation of bridge girder damage after earthquake
Understanding the existing seismic safety of damaged and deteriorated steel truss bridges
Understanding the mechanical characteristics of the abutment considering the back soil
Effects of Destruction Experiments of Model Roller Bearings and Modeling of Roller Bearings on Seismic Response of Curved Bridges
