Activity Outline
Research
In order to clarify the seismic response of bridges, we are conducting research from both theoretical and experimental perspectives. Specifically, we are conducting "earthquake response analysis of the entire bridge system" and "earthquake safety of abutments considering girder collision and back soil". We are also studying the safety margin of damaged bridges during an earthquake, and conducting research on reliability design and earthquake risk analysis.
Education
We provide education on the behavior of structures during earthquakes and elasto-plastic response so that the safety of structures can be checked in design. In addition, in mechanics (1st grade), which is a core education subject, education is provided with the goal of being able to correctly consider mechanics phenomena in an engineering manner so that they can be smoothly applied to specialized subjects.
Social Activities
Participating in committees at academic societies such as the Japan Society of Civil Engineers, he is engaged in research on new bridge structures with excellent earthquake resistance while coordinating with industry, government, and academia.
